PayPal Y U NO

Y U no work faster?

Still waiting for the transfer to complete. Still offline. So... yeah.

Edit: It's done! We should be back shortly. Let's not jynx it though, no promises. Have another coffee, it's on me. (Though don't charge me through PayPal.)

Edit 2: We're officially back! See you again next year!

Delayed Renewal

Another year, another week of downtime. Approximately. Why PayPal needs a week to process a transfer is beyond me. We'll be back soon!
And rest assured, everything is backed up just in case.

Downtime, definitely

The downtime I expected to come has finally arrived.

Hold on people, we'll be back before you know it. Edit: Actually, it may take a bit longer. I will post an exact date as soon as I know.

Edit 2: Looks like we'll have to wait until February 23. I'm waiting for manual payments to complete, which seem to take a week of processing.

Edit 3: We should be back later today. (February 24)

Downtime, maybe

There hasn't been a new post here in a while. Thankfully, there has been no need for one either. Possibly, until now.

(dramatic pause)

In short, an issue with the web hosting occurred, causing me to believe we may experience some downtime for a short period. The crisis seems to have been averted, though. (Namecheap is awesome.) To be safe, I increased the backup frequency. Just in case.

If anything does happen to the server, I will let you all know here.

Namaste!

We're Back!

That's right. We're back from suspension! Thank Jacob, Sauron and the other world overlords. (Also, Oleg from tech support.)

I will be looking into ways of optimizing the code. In the meantime, the shoutbox will be unavailable. That seemed to be the biggest resource hog. Sorry for any inconvenience that may cause!

Namaste!

Account Suspended

So about 7 hours ago I received an email from Namecheap. Apparently we're using an excessive amount of resources, which caused the IT guys over there to pull the plug on STW. Now, STW might not be the most efficient website, but surely it's not eating up more CPU than your average PHP-based forum. It also amazes me how right now, after a long while of no updates and with less users online, we're using MORE resources than before.

Still having high hopes of this being a mistake, I replied to Namecheap's email. We'll have to see how it goes. I'm hoping we can get the website back soon. Perhaps I can even start optimizing some of the ol' STW code.

Pic related. It's our wonderful new homepage.

Minor Downtime

I was shocked when I saw the server was offline this morning. I had been staring at the homepage not too long before that, and it worked fine. So naturally, being used to HostMDS, I freaked. I sent in a ticket right away.

4 minutes after that, I got a reply, and everything was working fine again! Did I mention I love Namecheap? I do. Very much.
